Foreign visitors coming to Indonesia and to Bali,
will now need a visa. The new visa policy had been regulated by
the Immigration Department of Indonesia, supported by the President
of the Republic of Indonesia’s Amendment no: 103 year 2003.
The Ammendment commences immediately after 1st February 2004 and
to affect all nationals who wish to travel to the territory of
Indonesia.
Implications of the establishment of the new
visa regulations will be severe, according to some, and may directly
affect the total of foreigners travel to Bali. The Visa on Arrival,
which is said to cost from US$ 10 (less than 5 days visit) and
up to US$ 25 (less than 25 days visit) will be a further blow
(after the Kuta bombing tragedy) to the tourism industry, especially
Bali, a region which relies heavily to it.
Public has not yet informed to the amount of
the visa charge to foreign visitors entering the Indonesia territory.
