however if once ever watch or read chinese literature, there is this story about a monkey king and the legendary pandora box. The monkey king has a parrner in a shape of human with the head of elephant which in Balinese mythology is called Ganesha, the son of Goddess Saraswati. Dewi Saraswati, is an illustration of a goddess of knowledge to Balinese Hindu and Ganesha himself is today taken by many Univerisities (including Indonesia's oldest university in Bandung).

The temple is thought of being dedicated to honour the ganesha. This fact is supported by the relic of Buddhist statue in the foreground of the temple, and the Buddha cave, nowadays used as holy ground for meditation.
