These exclusive dance photos are taken by our inspection
crews during their visit to one of Bali's top dancers in Batubulan.
It was a pleasant time to watch the music and dance up and closely,
while it was backed by a very cosy and well maintained shaded
open stage.
The Batubulan area itself, the area in which the dance performed
is famous not only to Balinese but as well to the whole Indonesia
country as the home of many fine craftsman and handicraft makers.
It is not a surprise at all to know that the fine artist able
to perform the dance up to the highest 'Balinese' standard.
The story of the Barong dance is not hard to follow. They given
us a pamplet by the way, in many languages (spanish, english,
japanese, korean, indonesian, etc) for our conveniences to follow
the act. There are 5 acts to watch each contituently follows the
old balinese story of the eternal fight between good (represent
by Barong) and evil (represent by Rangda). There are further opening
act of Barong dance (similar to Barong Sai dance in China) and
an elegant Balinese welcoming dance of panyembrama.
We hope you enjoy the photos as much we enjoy the dance. Click
